We hope this finds all our local colleagues well and successfully getting back in the swing of things after Hurricane Gustav. Thanks so much to all of our national colleagues for your care and concern during this uncertain season. And as Hurricane Ike approaches, our thoughts and prayers are with our friends in Texas and Southwestern Louisiana.

Strategies for Better Grant-Writing

Join us for this information-packed meeting focused on using research and data to strengthen your grants' needs statements, program outcomes, and programs goals. Your grant-writing skills will be further sharpened with evaluation tips and guidance for incorporating national afterschool research as well as local data.

Our press conference release of the complete funding guide has been postponed until the October meeting.

Advancing Youth Development
10/10/2008, application DUE

Training Session: 10/27-31/2008, 9am-2pm daily
This 30-hour session is for staff who work directly with Youth ages 10-24 years old. We are proud to offer this training with the DC Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation at no cost to local providers. Organizations around New Orleans have found this to be an incredible boost to their training efforts and daily work. The application is available online in our Resource Library and is due Friday, 10/10/2008.
